CLEANSING AND CHARGING
Like all crystals, Ruby can work at the highest of its powers when it has been cleansed and charged. Keeping your gemstones cleansed and charged on a regular basis is the best way of removing any stagnant energy and keeping your stone open and ready to program with your intention.
Ruby gemstones can be cleansed in a bowl of lukewarm soapy water using a soft brush. Rinse the stone well after washing it. Or you can rinse your Ruby safely under running water to cleanse its energy. Its hardness makes it durable for regular cleansing with water.
If you don’t want to introduce your Ruby to water can both cleanse and charge it using a smudging technique. Pass your Ruby through the smoke of sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs to purify its energy and restore its vibrancy.
Utilizing cleansing crystals like Selenite, Clear Quartz or Amethyst will help mop up any unwanted vibrations and energies from your Ruby stone. Using a selenite plate will also both cleanse and charge your Ruby by placing it on the plate for several hours to refresh its energising properties. Placing your Ruby close to an Amethyst cluster or placing in a bowl of Clear Quartz will draw out stagnant negative energies.
Ruby is all about warmth and fire, so it will charge beautifully if in sunlight. Ruby’s fiery energy can be amplified by exposure to sunlight but avoid prolonged periods as it may affect the stone’s colour over time. Likewise, you can place Ruby under the light of the full moon to cleanse and recharge its energy, allowing the moon’s vibrations to restore its strength and vitality.
Store your Ruby jewelry pieces in a soft pouch or cloth to prevent scratches and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or chemicals.
