When ordering a Wrist Cuff sizing is based on your actual wrist measurement. Bracelet sizes require additional length added to your wrist measurement to allow for a flexible fit based on your preference, see the chart below.
Following is a guide to figuring out the most important measurement you will need to know to make a bracelet or wrist cuff purchase … your wrist size.
One challenge of purchasing jewellery online can be figuring out if something will fit you the way you want it to. Finding the right fit for your Bracelet or Wrist Cuff isn’t just about style; it’s about comfort and ensuring it sits on your wrist just the way you’d like it to.
Wrist Cuffs are jewellery pieces characterized by their rigid structure and are open ended. Bracelets, on the other hand (no pun intended), are more flexible and are secured around your wrist using clasps or closures. Wrist Cuffs slide on an off or your wrist while Bracelets are a closed circle that must be fastened when put on your wrist.
Measuring is quite straightforward. Let’s go through the process.
Measure your wrist: Hold your arm with your hand relaxed and fingers gently outstretched. Take a flexible measuring tape, strip of paper, or piece of string, and wrap it around your wrist below the wrist bone where you would normally wear a bracelet. Do not pull it tight, just measure at a comfortable tension and that is your wrist measurement.
This is your wrist size. But one more step is required. Before you order you need to ensure you will order the right size. If you bought a bracelet that was exactly the same length as your wrist size it would be too small – you need a little slack to account for the thickness of the beads, and leave room to fasten the clasp.
